The Iraqi Refugee Crisis
Iraqi Refugees Crisis started in 1991 when the United States, with cooperation of European countries, placed sanctions against Iraq. Iraqis lived under sanction for 13 years and suffered persecution under the dictatorship in Iraq, hundred of thousands of Iraqis fled their country that time and most of them went to Europe.
In 2003 the US invasion of Iraq gave hope to Iraqis who had lost hope, but they were totally wrong and they lost every thing and the most important thing they lost security and safety. nowadays the estimated number is 4.8 millions Iraqis externally and internally displaced and they are living in a very poor circumstance.
Iraqis live without any rights inside and outside their country , there are not much attention to this issue from international organizations or media although it’s the worst crisis that refugees ever have .
